Emma and Jessica Math Prove It

CHOIR

on friday we had choir. At choir we had our final rehearsel before the big one next friday and then the actual performance that night.We ran through all of the songs that people said they were struggling with and I think we are ready for the performance.We then practiced some of our favourite songs.After we had done all of this we had nearly run out of time so we did some of our other songs that are not for the music festival. After that we had to go back to class. I that the final practise when well.

peer mediation

on friday we had peer mediation. Mollyanne Emily and myself were all present but nothing much really happened the whole lunch. We had no problems the whole lunch so we just patrolled the area making sure everyone was having fun and stopping things that could turn into problems.We made sure to go around all of the buildings in the juinor and senior area all the way up to the border of the feild. I believe we did a very good job even if we didn't solve any problems but doesn't that mean we are doing our job anbd there are no problems to start with.

CHOIR

On friday I attended choir. at the momment for choir we are practising for the lion club music festivel. we are about to get our choir shirts and this weird tie thingy. we have been practising for a while now and its coming up in a few weeks we practised so much on friday my throat started hurting but we needed to practice lots for the festivel.the practice was a very fgood one we got through most of the songs and we sang them very well. we are nearly ready for the music festivel only one more practice. our practice lasted 45 minutes before we had to go back to class and the year sixs went to maori. I think the practice went really well and I am excited for the music festivel.

peer mediation

On friday my group and I had peer mediation duty. Sadly Mollyanne couldn't make it so it was just Emily and myself. We only sorted out two problems the whole lunch. one of the issues was when a little boy was annoying and pulling a little girls hair pretty simple stuff. We got him to apologise and to leave her alone and ta'da problem fixed. The only other problem at lunch was with some year three boys who couldn't agree on game rules and we had a big discussion trying to figure out some fair rules . The discussion took a good 10-15 minutes but it felt like longer. After that issue we had no other problems for the rest of lunch. For the last 10 minutes we strolled around making sure everyone was having a good time. When lunch was over we headed back to class. I think we did a good job fixing all of the problems before they got bigger.

2015 goals reflection term 4

At the beginning of the year we set 3 goals for the year to either improve on something or achieve something these are my 3 goals.

To be a good role model

To make new friends

To earn a leadership badge

Here is how I am going with my goals.

I believe I am being a good role model to the younger students because I make sure to get involved at play and I remember to either wear my hat or stay under the shade. 

I think I am doing well with my second goal because I have made many new friends as the year has gone by and I hang out with many different types of people all the time but I still have my little group of friends.

My final goal was to earn a leadership badge this goal is still in the process for I am still working my way towards my merit badge.

Koru Games Reflection

Over the last three days we have had a year 7/8 sports tournament called the Koru Games. I participated in the Oaklands girls basketball team. We played at Lincoln University. I really enjoyed the Koru Games because it challenged my height for I am quite short and we played against very tall teams and it gave me experience in playing against other teams. I enjoyed the Koru Games experience very much and cannot wait for next year. Some things I will remember from this tournament are that other teams are very competitive and some like us are here for the participation not so much to win.

Overall I loved Koru Games and can't wait for next year.

CHOIR

  On Friday i had choir. for choir we are practicing for the music festival that is coming up soon. we     have to be in the music room ready to start at 8:45 every Friday.sometimes people are late other         times people are quite early and have some down time. once choir starts we do some warm ups           some of the warm ups are complicated others are very simple. once we have finished our warm ups   we start with the first song in our music festival song book which happens to be the national anthem.   we do about to complete run throughs of the national anthem then we move on to some of the other   songs in the song book. next we sang ring of fire we went through all the different parts and went       through some quite a few times before doing the whole song once and moving on to a different           song. we then started to practice american child which took about ten minutes. The teacher made us sing the song so we sounded very posh and the way we sad Alaska was hillarious. after American child we sang an old Japanese song called Murasame. The majority of the song was i n Japanese apart from one small verse that was in English. after practicing that song for about fifteen minutes it was nearly time to go back to class.We decided to do a very quick run through of this very cool new song we are learning. the music is awesome but the words are in gibberish because the person who wrote the piece wrote the music then made up some random words that sounded good with the music. after we had our run through of that song we had to go back to class because choir was officially over. i think that choir session went very well and the teacher did not have to remind us to be quiet to much.

     on Friday my group was on peer mediation. we had a very eventful lunch with many,many,many,        many problems. most of these issues were very small but we had to solve them anyway. most of          the problems were caused by a group of girls who were poking there tounges out at a little boy and       some other kids. after they apologized to most of the kids they decided to do it again and        got        in even more trouble which caused even more issues.we ended up solving all of those issues.              we then ended up with three problems at once so we split up Mollyanne and Emily went to one            problem while Lauren who decided to help and i went and stopped some kid who was spitting at          and pushing kids of the jungle gym. after i had finished fixing the issue we went over to the                others and we solved the third and final problem.we had some other very very minor problems          then after that the bell rang signaling the end of lunch so we made pour way back to class. i think        we did a very good job solving all of the problems in the junior area and making it back to class          on time too.

on friday the 21st I had peermediation with my group which consists of mollyanne
 emily and myself. sadly mollyanne could not make it so it was just emily
 and I. toghether we sat in the middle of the juinor area on some benches as
 we like to call it peermediation HQ. we were on the second half of lunch
 and we solved two problems in that time. the first problem was with a little
 girl who came up to us and told us that an older boy stole her ball so we went
 to find the boy. we eventually found him and he apologised and gave the girl
the ball back and they continued playing. the second problem was fairly simple
as well. a smal girl came up to us and said that two boys were picking on her
and pulling her hair so we went up to the boys and they apologised and they
stopped annoying her and went to pklay football with some other boys while she
went and played with the p.a.ls that were on duty. there were not many problems
 at peermediation on friday and the problems were very minor. I believe that
emily and I are doing a great job and so is molloyanne when she is with us.

Goals Review term 3

This is my review on my goals that aim to achieve by the end of the year.

My first goal was to be a good role-model. I  Believe I am doing well with this goal because I am setting a good example for the younger students.

My second goal was to make new friends. I believe I am doing well with this goal because I have made lots of new friends.

My last goal was to get a leadership badge. I believe I am doing well with this goal because I am working towards my merit badge.

Making Inferences

Everyday everyone makes inferences without even knowing. You must be wondered get what is an inference. It's when you look at a picture or something or someone and you think what they are doing or what they might be thinking.
E.g: if you look at a picture with a lonely girl
I think that she is:
~ Sad
~ She is thinking about something
~ Depressed
~ Lonely

All these things I have come up with mean I have inferred on a picture or something. So basically on a daily basis we always infer on things like for instance you could infer on your dog if she/he is barking then you might think that there's someone at the door or she/he wants somethignto eat or something else , see it's so easy to make an inference. You might think it's hard at first but you will realise that you infer on things all the time without knowing.

This is my reading prove it. My prove it is to prove that I can use Google search well and correctly.

Firstly I will find a large image of a cat. first I searched cat then I went to images on the tool bar. after that i went to search tools and then clicked size. I then clicked large and waited for the page to load.

finally I will get the most update information on elephants. first i searched up elephants then i went to the tool bar and clicked news. I then went to the tool bar and clicked time and changed it to most recent.

three goals reflection

This is my reflection blog post for my three goals at the begining of the year.

1.be good role model. I believe Iam doing well in this goal because I have been helping the little kids do the right thing, showing them a good exampleof how we should behave and getting involved

2.make new friends. I believe I have achieved this goal because I have made three new friends and  we all hangout toghether with one of my old friends.

3.get a leadership badge. I believe I am doing well in this goal but I have yet to acheive it.

So that is my update on how i'm going with my goals for 2015.

Some say winter has a cold heart 

But they don't know where to start

When it comes to describing winter 

Wonderful winter is cold but warm 

How? you say well isnt it warm 

when you sit inside with steaming hot-chocolate 

waiting out a winter storm

And when it snows 

everyone knows it's time to go and play

It's so freezing soon I might turn into an ice cube 

People say but sorry is that winters problem no!

So say goodbye its time to go 

and enjoy winter including ice and snow

Term 2 Goal For Leadership

My goal for this term is to blog more. So that I can achieve my merit badge. I also want to be a better role model for younger kids in lower years.

art attack week

this week at school is art attack week. for the year 7&8 focus we are doing vincent von goph. we are making our backrounds special like one of his paintings this is mine. for functional criteria i am at extended abstract.

librairians

today at lunch we had librairians it went well shannon and i were on computer duty for the senior library. i helped out by saying the names of people and the book spine codes which helped heaps.this is fun and helpful to the librarian and the junior librarians.
